St. Mark’s Syrian Orthodox Cathedral

Our Future

St. Mark’s Cathedral along with the Syriac Orthodox Eastern Archdiocese under the leadership and blessing of His Eminence Mor Cyril Aphrem Karim, purchased 5.25 acres at 50 W. Midland Avenue in Paramus, New Jersey in July of 2007.

The plans for the new cathedral are currently in the works and under review with the Building committee. The project, once completed, will be the biggest project our church has taken on, with the God’s willing, the generosity of our people and friends, will have a church big enough for about 500 people, and a banquet hall for 450 people, with 125 parking spaces.

Offices, playgrounds, and needed facilities will be built around the perimeter of the building. Our projected time line is to have the plans approved by the Parish by 2010, and to begin building the Hall first in 2011, and the church building to follow. The building committee sincerely thanks all those who contributed to this project, and we ask for your continued support as we progress through the next phases of the project.
